About Mathematical Sciences (DMS)

The Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) supports a wide range of research in mathematics and statistics aimed at developing and exploring the properties and applications of mathematical structures. Most of these projects are conducted by single investigators or small groups of investigators working with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. DMS investments also support training through research involvement of the next generation of mathematical scientists, conferences and workshops, and a portfolio of national mathematical sciences research institutes.
